PRIVACY & DATA

Your files remain under your control.

This policy explains what PaperPath stores, what can leave your device, and which controls are available to you.

PaperPath 1.1.0
On-device

PDF editing, OCR, and privacy detection run on your device.

No tracking

The app privacy manifest declares no tracking or collected data types.

Optional sync

iCloud metadata sync is off by default and never includes PDF files.

01 / Documents and local processing

Core document work stays on your device.

PDF processing, scan review, text recognition, and privacy detection run on your device. PaperPath does not send PDF contents, extracted text, or handwritten signatures to a PaperPath processing server.

Importing creates a working copy in app storage and does not alter the source file. Local data can include PDFs, recognized text, thumbnails, bookmarks, versions, saved signatures, and output receipts.

PaperPath excludes its private document library from automatic device backups. Export files you need to keep before deleting the app or replacing your device.

02 / Optional iCloud metadata

Synchronization is limited and off by default.

If you enable it, PaperPath can synchronize reading positions, bookmarks, tags, workflow state, file fingerprints, and receipt metadata through your iCloud account.

PDF bytes, file names, OCR text, extracted content, passwords, and signatures are not included. Apple handles iCloud storage under its own terms.

Turning sync off stops future synchronization. Use the in-app “Delete Synced Metadata” control to remove PaperPath metadata already stored in iCloud.

03 / Permissions and notifications

System access is tied to a visible feature.

  • Camera access supports document and identity-code scanning.
  • App Lock uses system authentication, including Face ID where available. PaperPath does not receive your biometric template.
  • Optional due-date notifications do not include PDF names or contents.

You can change these permissions in system Settings.

04 / Purchases

Apple handles payment information.

The launch plan is a one-time paid download, with no PaperPath subscription or in-app feature unlocks. Apple handles App Store payments, download history and refund requests. PaperPath does not receive payment card details. Local prices will appear on the App Store when available.

05 / Sharing, diagnostics, and external services

Files leave only through an action you initiate.

When you export or share a file, the receiving app or service handles that copy under its own policy. Delivery packages can include document and receipt metadata; review them before sharing.

An optional private diagnostics file can include app and device information, document counts, storage totals, and relevant settings. It excludes PDF bytes, file names, extracted text, passwords, and signatures. Creating it does not automatically send it.

PaperPath includes no advertising SDK or third-party analytics SDK. Apple may separately provide store or crash information according to your device and App Store choices.

06 / Retention and deletion

Local and synced data have separate controls.

Manage working copies and Trash in PaperPath. “Delete All Local Data” removes local PaperPath documents and related data without deleting the source files you imported.

Synced metadata must be deleted with its dedicated control. Exported files, copies held by another app, and external backups must be managed in those locations.

07 / Important limits

Automated checks do not replace your review.

Review before sharing.

Automatic privacy detection can miss information. Permanent redaction cannot be undone in its output copy. File and page checks do not certify content accuracy, identity, or legal compliance.

08 / Contact and updates

Questions and privacy requests.
